Julia C. Ahrend

Julia C. Ahrend is a researcher in the field of visual science communication. She is currently a PhD student at the Department of Art and Design at the HfK Bremen and a research assistant at the Kiel Science Communication Network. In her PhD project, she investigates the conditions for communicating scientific knowledge and the design practices involved in creating science communication products, with a focus on user experience and aesthetics. For her, research is a symbiosis of practical work, empirical and theoretical exploration - building on her communication design studies in Kiel and Paris.
