Trained at the Politecnico di Milano, where she was awarded a M.Arch. with a thesis in the field of Landscape Architecture. She has taught Landscape Architecture, History of Gardens, Theory of Urbanism, Urban Landscape, Spatial design at the Politecnico di Milano for 34 years, teaching Masters-level courses in the School of Architecture. Currently is professore per chiara fama (Professor “by acclaim”) in Landscape in the Politecnico di Milano’s School of Design. During her academic career she has co-planned and reviewed more than 1600 university projects from all over the world and delivered over 382 lectures and papers at conferences. Team leader and faculty member in over 54 university workshops on urban landscape planning. She has also served on international juries in landscape design including as a member of the Agritecture and Landscape Symposium at Milan Expo 2015 and as a member of the juries for the International Italian Landscape Awards, Green Cities Award, City-Brand&Tourism Landscape Award, European Green Cities Award organized by the National Council of Italian Architects, the Triennale di Milano, and Paysage between 2016 and 2025.

The Italian government selected her to represent Italy at the 2018 edition of the Days of the Contemporary festival in Denmark as a leading designer-critic in the field of contemporary landscape architecture. She was invited by the National Council of Landscape Architects in Mexico to keynote the 11th Mexican Congress of Landscape Architecture in Guadalajara in 2019. In June 2023, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs selected her as a consultant in Landscape for the Capitals of Italian Creativity in the World project in Melbourne, Australia. In September 2023, the Italian Cultural Institute of Melburne invited her to exhibit two of her projects at the Tools for After Festival: The Endless AcademicLandscape and FleetingLandscape ABACO. She is a regular contributor to the reviews Paysage-Topscape (serving as correspondent for Denmark and South America). A member of the Italian Architects Association, she has over 50 publications in the field of landscape to her credit.
